Alright, I almost forgot how much I hate the coldness. I love being home minus the cold [enter derogatory comment here] wind. I do love the snow though. I think I am going to take the kids sledding 2marrow. Tonight we are making xmas cookies with my uncle. He's a 1st grade teacher so he likes doing this stuff. As do I, but I guess I have to be in the mood for it and boy let me tell you. I'm in a cookie making fool mood. I'm sure it will go away by the time we actually do it. I think I am going to get a culinary degree. I have added a new goal to my already extensive list of "things I need to do before I stop breathing". I am going to open up a restaurant, but this won't be any regular restaurant. Well it probably will, but it looks original in my mind. The main reason for this place is to give high school kids a area to play music. Mostly instrumental of course but there will be no boundaries. Every Thursday my jazz band wherever I will be teaching will play there. Maybe a jazz combo on Monday, Salsa night Tuesday, and on hump day, it will  be night dance club. Friday night Karaoke? Saturday will be a free for all. If no one is playing then Karaoke, maybe some swing dancing, ball room dancing. Who knows!!! All I know is that I am very excited. And all the decorations will be contemporary but it won't feel cold. There will be rugs everywhere, sofas, tables. I'm thinking more of a 1940s jazz look with modern furniture. I think this will be a good place. I'll call it [what?] The name is for self enjoyment of course, but imagine the conversations. Hey where you goin' tonight? To what? Where you goin tonight? WHAT?!!! I SAID WHERE THE [enter derogatory comment here] is your [enter derogatory comment here] (noun) GOING TONIGHT?!!!? WHAT?!!!!!!!! Well you get the picture. So if anybody has any comments or suggestions with what they would like to see, please I am open to anything. Like a white girl to a black.....never mind.

Here is a treat for you all. In high school I wrote a lot of poetry and I happen to stumble upon the book where I wrote down all my thoughts and things of such nature. So I thought you would all enjoy to atleast get a taste of what I was thinking when I was in high school, granted it was 4 years ago....

What do I want?

I want to be a mystery, yet be unknown

I want to be together, yet alone

Is it too much to ask, to be famous yet

unknown?

To be a wanderer, yet have a home?

My insecurity makes me sick,

Yet my confidence makes me thick

Can I be harmless, yet grip the stick,

Be completely smooth, yet have a nick?

Can I live in a lie, yet be true

Can I be unique, yet so like you?

Have no control, yet know what to do?

Can I be ugly, yet beautiful too?

Answer me, I need your help.

Can you help me or someone else?

I need your help, can't you see,

Are you even listening to me?

So yeah I hope you guys enjoyed that. Maybe I will share some more with you. Wow it's intersting how once you think in rhyme you start talking in the meter of your own thoughts. It gets me thinking about music and it relationships with life. That's probably tooooo deep to even discuss. I guess there are just some things that must be kept.

Ohh yeah, bush sucks.

What lies behind us & what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. Man thats really corny. You know what is funny? The times when you think about what some person is doing at that very minute. It's quite fun. I was thinking of all the different kinds of groups I have played in. Mainly I played in a saxophone quartet where we would play 5 out of the 7 days of the week for receptions. The great thing was that we would play all this very modern literature that people said wasn't for recpetions and guess what. Everyone at the parties loved them. My thing was when I started this quartet was that no matter where  we played, we played the music that we wanted(as a group) at anytime. My reason was that with music any type of situation will be enhanced as long as you played the piece with conviction and most importantly you had a good time. So we played bozza, rivier, piazzolla, frankenpohl and so many others and guess what! They loved it. They didn't know exactly what they were listening to but once the party was winding down they would come up to us and be like "that was such a great variety music! It just kept the party going". I also had a hip hop group for a little while where yes I actually did some rapping. That is one art that is under rated. I was also in a punk band which was very fun. There is nothing like being on stage and playing music that enhances peoples lives. I've met so many people who have taken music and music performance for granted and I just don't want to be one of those people. Music will always be number two in my life. Performing music will always be number one.
